Studiesinemergenterder.org is an open-access site dedicated to fostering research, discussion and publication concerning the roles played by and implications of emergent order phenomena, particularly in society but not excluding other areas. Click here to see the current issue.

Emergent order phenomena are also often identified as self-organizing systems, spontaneous orders, autopoietic systems, chaordic systems, and complex adaptive systems. Regardless of the title, they are phenomena where order arises and adapts at a systemic level uncontrolled by those whose actions generate the order.

At studiesinemergentorder.org, we provide a refereed online journal, opportunities to discuss journal articles as well as submit them, book reviews of new publications, networking opportunities, and an annotated bibliography. In addition, we offer a means by which people can initiate discussions regarding topics of interest to them in these fields and learn of other research they may not know of in their and related areas.

While access is open to everyone, participation in discussions will be limited in order to try and keep discussions of interest to people doing active research in these fields. Participants must have an advanced degree, be employed at an accredited educational or research institution, have published an relevant article on emergent order, or have approval by an existing participant.
